Privacy policy

Trajekt is a university planning and student networking platform. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, who it is shared with, and the choices you have.

You must be at least 13 years old to join the waitlist or create an account. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

If you believe someone under 13 has given us information, contact us and we will delete the account and its data.

When you join the waitlist: your name, email address, school, age, expected graduation year, what you hope Trajekt helps with, and how you heard about us.

When you create an account: your name, email address and a password, which is stored only as a cryptographic hash and never in a form we can read.

As you use Trajekt: your goals and roadmaps, target schools and deadlines, application requirements and uploaded documents, application essays and their revisions, extracurricular activities and portfolio entries, profile details and avatar or banner images, posts, comments and community memberships, direct messages and their attachments, connections with other students, saved and applied-to opportunities, and the progress and points earned through the gamification features.

Relationships: if you join through a counselor or link a parent, that person can see the progress the platform shares with their role.

To provide the product: keeping you signed in, generating roadmaps and suggestions, tracking deadlines, sending reminder emails, showing your profile to people you connect with, and operating the counselor, parent and organization views.

To keep the service working and safe: diagnosing errors, preventing abuse, and rate-limiting requests.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your essays or messages to advertise to you.

We use a small number of processors to run the service: a database and hosting provider, a file storage provider for uploads, an email provider for transactional mail, an AI provider that generates roadmaps and essay feedback, and optional analytics and error-monitoring providers.

Content you send to the AI features is transmitted to the AI provider in order to produce a response. Please do not paste anything into Trajekt that you would not want processed by a third party.

Other students see only what your role and connections allow: your public profile, posts you publish, communities you join, and messages you send them.

Passwords are hashed. Sessions use signed, HTTP-only cookies that JavaScript cannot read. Traffic is served over HTTPS, and database access uses parameterised queries throughout.

No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and tell us immediately if you think someone else has accessed your account.

We keep your information for as long as your account exists. Waitlist entries are kept until launch, or until you ask us to remove them.

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and its contents. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to object to or restrict certain processing, and to complain to your local data protection authority.

If this policy changes materially we will update the date above and, where appropriate, tell you in the product.
